Tatra Register UK 11th Annual Rally, Weymouth: visiting
attractions in beautiful Dorset. On Saturday we'll be touring the west of the county, including some wonderful views and planned stops ...without putting too much pressure on vehicles and crew, some of whom will have travelled some distance to take part. Sunday takes us via Lulworth Cove into the Purbeck hills. Email rally organiser Andrew Bone at: andreboeni@yahoo.co.uk.
Rolling Events Calendar
TRUK
events in red, events to which we are invited, or
which include a Tatra theme, in blue, and a selection
of key classic car events which are likely to be of interest.
Health
alert:
TRUK claims no expertise in medical matters, but if you are intending
to enjoy the countryside as part of a central or east European excursion
(including Germany), you'd be wise to look into the significant risk of
tick-borne
encephalitis, which can result in catastrophic brain damage. Two injections
three weeks apart, from a GP or from a MASTA
Travel Clinic, offer a year's protection, and can be topped up for
continued peace of mind.

There is a “Hall of Transport” a printing museum and a telephone museum. There are usually lots of vintage & classic cars, buses, lorries, old motorcycles and stationary engines plus lots more. Entry is free if you bring a vehicle to display. No prizes just an informal meet. Rally site open from 8am (museum visitors from 11am to 5.30pm). Red Oktober Day, Crich Tramway Village: Derbyshire: This outing developed from a concept established by Bob Gibbens of the IFA club. The venue management morphed
his November 'East Berlin Day' into 'Red Oktober', and these 'Ostalgia' days in the evocative Derbyshire location have become a regular meet for an established community of enthusiasts, many
of whom turn out in commie uniforms. Should be a varied turnout of eastern
bloc cars, driving on the right amongst working trams that include examples
from Prague and East Germany. Tasty authentic German lunches and beer
are usually on offer, too. Entry for drivers of vehicles built and registered before 1 Jan 1968 is free, and for drivers of newer vehicles and all passengers booking in advance: £9 adult, £8 senior and £5 child. Details from www.tramway.co.uk,
or tel. 0870 758726
